Hawaii

Hawaii is my favorite beach vacation destination. While it takes us a full day to travel there from

Chicago, it is worth it the minute you step off the plane and smell the tropical air, hear the

Hawaiian music and see the beautiful scenery. We have been to Maui before and shared our

itinerary for that trip with our kids, but this time, we extended our time and visited two islands.

We opted for Kauai as Curt and I haven’t been there since our honeymoon and our kids have

never been there. We wanted to have a good mix of activities coupled with relaxing beach days.

Below is our itinerary – broken up into the two islands so you can use what you want for either.

This is a family favorite and family friendly destination! It has so much to do! The scenery is gorgeous, there is a wide range of activities for kids and parents and the beaches are some of the best we have been to. It is on repeat with our family trips for a reason, and will continue to be.

It is the definition of a topical paradise and had the feeling more of ‘old Hawaii’ versus the other islands we visited. The landscape is lush, the coral reefs are vibrant, the beaches are pristine and the natural beauty is something you have to see to believe.
